'an altar for the taking' was shown at the WIRWIR project space in Berlin, DE in November 2022.
Based on the Berlin practice of "zu verschenken," meaning "to give away." Objects were collected from the streets of Berlin over the course of September through November and used to create this piece.
Audience members were invited to explore the installation and take home any objects that interested them.
The objects which weren't taken during the exhibition were returned to the street.
